Eastman Women's Golf Association

SPECIAL NOTICE: During the current golf season, please check this notice for information regarding weekly tournament play, such as cancellation or postponement due to weather.

The Eastman Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) was founded to promote interest in the game of golf. Any woman who has reached her eighteenth birthday and is a member of Eastman Golf Links (EGL) is eligible for membership in the EWGA upon payment of current dues. The EWGA season will begin on the first Monday of June and will end before October.

Social members are welcome at all EWGA social events. Social members may be asked to assist in tournaments or luncheons. Membership dues for social members are minimal. Guests are welcome in Monday tournaments, up to two times a month, but are not eligible for prizes.

A member who does not have an established USGA handicap may submit 5 scores which will be used to establish a temporary handicap that may be used in tournament play. A player must have a handicap to be eligible for tournament prizes. A player uses her course handicap in effect at the time each round is played.

EWGA has a 9-hole division and two 18-hole divisions. A member of the 9-hole division may transfer to the 18-hole division after establishing an 18-hole handicap. Players in Flight One must play to a maximum 40 handicap. Flight Two players with a handicap of 41 and above must play to a maximum 50 handicap. However, Flight Two players must play to a maximum 40 handicap in trophy tournaments, such as the Eastman Recognition Cup and the Seniors tournament.
